Me & Morgan stuck to it throughout the day today. I got really weak a couple times thinking about a Golden Dairy hamburger. Lol🍔
We had Sweet Potato for supper. Added maple syrup- a little, and cinnamon. I kept laughing at Morgan cause she said, this tastes like nothing! I had scraped my potato clean & here she is can barely eat it!! 🍠 Lol So not sure if I can do this... But we are on the third day! Got 11 more to go. Surprisingly, I'm not hungry. Just cravings. I keep repeating the mantra, we only eat to stay alive... Food is not supposed to be an enjoyment!
Tom really doubts I can do this... I really need to do it. 😕 Right now me & Morgan are keeping each other strong.
Life does not consist mainly--or even largely--of facts and happenings. It consists mainly of the storm of thoughts that is forever blowing through one's head.--Mark Twain =================++++++++++++++++++++================= Sometimes, I wonder just how crazy my mind works...then I wonder if everyone thinks the way I do...They probably do, they are just ashamed to admit it...so here are a few of my thoughts to either make you laugh, cry or just wonder...

NEW LIFE...Maybe?
Starting today, I'm changing. Well at least that's the way I feel right now. Me & Morgan have decided to try a diet she forced me to purchase off Internet about 6 months ago. So not sure why today we decided to start it. Well probably because we have been watching biggest loser. So we went grocery shopping today...we are gonna start on a 7 day cleanse... It is basically a raw food diet. So I am on the way home with a car full of...broccoli... romaine lettuce...broccoli....1 orange...broccoli...almonds...broccoli...apples....broccoli... LOL I don't like alot of veggies...so if you can't tell, I do like broccoli...but only with cheese...and butter...so I am pretty much out of luck. So I was hungry, wanted to come home and eat...guess what I get to eat, BROCCOLI!!!! LOL
All jokes aside, my resolve is strong right now, but it won't take long for it to be gone... me and Morgan took "before" pictures.... yes, I know, she doesn't need to lose any weight!!

Getting Married
Well, gotta record this while it is still fresh on my mind...On Dec. 27th, Tom and I went to the court house and got our marriage license...meaning to get them to marry us there, then we would go to Pigeon Forge... Well Surprise surprise...they don't marry people at the courthouse in my county...?? What? For Real? She said very nicely, "were you all planning on doing it today?" Yes,.. "well, you'll have to find someone to do it." So luckily, Tom had a minister buddy that he wouldn't mind... so we called him. He said, I'm in my jeans.. Tom said, Im in mine too!!! Lol...He then mentioned that he ws the only one at home, so we needed to find a witness... Called Tim my brother who was at work close to the minister's house and he left for a few minutes to come witness it.
So we are standing in front of the minister, he has his Bible...he says "I don't have my ceremonial book with me, so I have written some things down, I hope that's ok...?" Of course... so he looks at his Bible/paper and says, "Well gosh, you all have been thru this before and know what all God says about marriage, I don't need to go thru any of this... Tom, do you take this woman to be your lawful wedded wife, to have and to hold, to cherish and to love and to blah blah blah" Tom said I do. He asked me the same and said you may kiss your bride!!! LOL So in about a minute and a half, we were married!!!

Marriage, a Gift from God...
This marriage is my second...to the same man...the devil tried to destroy us...but God won again...I'm happy
I'm Back...
So I didn't have any intention of stopping by here on the first day of the new year...2013. I am starting this year blessed far beyond measure. I was reading all the things God has done for me over the past 4 years and now it has all been worth it. Tom and I got married (again) on Dec. 27...(a whole nother story). We are happy, God's plan is in place...and oh the things I learned over the past 4 years. Learning to depend on God was absolutely the best. I can't explain the things God has done for me...so many things...so many lessons...Simply amazing! I heard a song last night from a child, singing "I've had a Wonderful Life"..."If I died today, I'd have to say, I've had a wonderful life..." and truly, the pain was so hard..the loneliness so bad, but it was totally worthwhile... so, I'll try to post more this year than last year...LOL, this post is def more than last year... :)

Busy...Don't Question It!!! LOL
My life has been so busy in the past 7 months that I hardly have time to breath...I am gonna start my last semester for my RN degree in 13 days and I will graduate in May. As a single mom with an uninvolved father, I have to do all the running for my two children, one in ball, one in high school...I am working two part time jobs and goin to school 3 days a week, not to mention trying to attend church 3 services a week. One day a couple weeks ago, I spent substantial amounts of time in 3 different cities in East Tn...so yes, I'm busy...that's not including keeping the house clean, the clothes washed, (the kids help, Thank God) and all the other routine upkeep to life...trying to pray, study the Bible, study homework, and still have time to take a shower, eat and get at least 7 hours of sleep a night...yep, I'm busy...Now is there any question? I still have to try to spend quality time with the kids, whether it be taking them to eat or watching one of our fav tv shows with them...and Lukas's basketball games haven't even started!!! UGH! yep, I'm busy

A new word for Webster...
Morgan was talking to me the other day and said "Momma, she was just spilling her guts to me and talking so fast...it was like WORD VOMIT"
Needless to say, I burst out laughing...Word and Vomit together are hilarious to me!
yeah, she's crazy! Here is a pic of her on her 14th birthday! She took some friends bowling...here me and her and her and her daddy are also...

Mom's Flower Garden
My mother is a flower fanatic...but she only likes the ones that comes back year after year...oh, and they have to be simple...require no care... you just gotta know Mom...anyway, I would love to have a garden like this...despite me hinting several times for her to transplant to mine...I might get one new plant a year...and it likely gets mowed down by Lukas...or even weedeated (is that a word?) by Mom when she decides to weedeat my whole entire property...(yeah, cause I don't have time...playing single mom card here...) and she forgets that she gave it to me and it is just a "messy weeed" that needs destroyed....Anyway, the point...Morgan went over one morning and took some pictures...just for the fun of it...and I put them into a collage...it turned out really beautiful!!! (Morgan is getting good at this photography thing...)

After posting Peace from God
LOL, it is so funny...after I sat down and took the time to blog how good God was to me on Friday, by Saturday night, I was at my sis in law's house crying from stress overload!!! I knew it was satan. Honestly, he has put an all out attack against me and it is kinda funny, cause no matter what, I am not gonna quit...and basically, I don't have time to fight with the devil...lol
So anyway, you wanna hear something funny?? This is how bad it is...
I got pulled over for not stopping all the way at a 4 way stop...well, yes, I got a ticket...but also GOT MY LICENSE TAKEN AWAY!!!!!! yes, I am driving with no DL's! There was some kind of mix up from my tags when I got the car back in October...and I thought I had it all fixed...but obviously not, cause my license are revoked!!!
The two trees outside my house that are probably 100 years old are dead...I'm afraid the wind will blow and top of them will fall on house, or worse, someone! well, to get these huge trees cut down, it will be a pretty sum of money...
I go today to try to get my license back...after all is said and done...gonna cost me around 500$$$ (including the ticket for the stop sign)...yeah, satan, bring it on...LOL
oh yeah, and this aint even half the things I have been slammed with in the past week...I mean, it is really getting to the point that I am just laughing...wondering how much more the devil will throw on me...

Peace from God
Blogged this Friday night, but didn't have internet access...
I have said over and over that thru all this mess that I now call my Life, that God has been there over and over for me. Today, I experienced that once again.
I boldly made a statement to a friend that I no longer felt a burden to pray for a certain overwhelming problem of mine… well, because I felt it was gonna be taken care of…I felt peace about the whole situation that was a “new peace” you know, the peace that says to you that God is gonna take care of it and it’s okay…well, low and behold, within 2 hours of verbalizing about that, satan was there to try and get me upset. Imagine that??!!! LOL
I immediately got sick to my stomach…but then got control of myself in the next few seconds…not wanting to let satan have an inch…but you know how it is…as long as you are talking to someone about being strong, you are…, right?? But as soon as you are alone, those thoughts start running thru your mind again. So I am on an hour road trip and I have a chance to have a couple conversations…with God, myself and satan. I started thinking about how God has brought me thus far, and how there is no way I can say that God wants me to give up…I said, devil, you can’t stop God’s plan, I don’t care what you do, or how much you target me… you might as well get thee behind me!!!!!! I turned on the CD player and the song was on, “Too much to gain to loose” …It totally blessed me and I played it like about 4 times in a row…I thought how that, yes, I have carried a burden for awhile, but that’s okay, I’m not only learning as a Christian, but I’m growing too…I thought how that God knows how bad that I want his will…and that with my past experience, God can take the desire of my heart away if it is not his will… so, then the next song was “It is Well” (not the old version) but the one about the story in the Bible of the son of a Shuman woman who dies and as she is on the way to get the Man of God (Elijah), they ask her how she is and even though her son is dead, she answers, it is well… So no matter what is going on in my life, it is well… So by this time, I am really rejoicing in His spirit… the sweet comfort of the Holy Spirit got in the car with me…
At church, as I sit in the pew, I am just glad to be there…glad that I can focus my mind on something other than anatomy and cells and bones… LOL. It gets even sweeter when church starts…I am so blessed just being there…just being able to focus on God…yes, I have not been able to focus much on His word this past week…School is eating up all my brain cells. LOL So it was sooo refreshing to just tune it all out and focus on God…
Now, truly, this was enough for me…God could have stopped right there and that would have been enough for me…but MY God goes above and beyond what we can ever think or ask…during the preaching tonight, the last point of the message about the fisherman on the sea, was how that Jesus directed them to a specific place…Our prayers should not be generalized…but specific…not “Lord, help my neighbors to get saved, but Lord, help me witness to Mr. Jones…” etc… but I was taken back to the time about 8 months ago, when on my way to school, God showed me to quit just praying generically for His will, but to ask for what I wanted. I was bawling by the time I got to school, just mostly rejoicing that God had shown me to be specific…God showed me numerous people in the Bible who ask for exactly what they needed. Hannah ask for a son..yeah, they thought she was crazy, but she approached God boldly…Esther approached the King boldly….He even tells us to come boldly before the throne of grace…so that morning, 8 months ago, I approached the throne and took my petition before God.
Now, to bring all this together…after the attack from satan today, I was feeling really doubtful as to what God’s plan was…was I following the right path…which way should I go…etc…God gave me peace in the car while driving…and to be honest, that was enough…But…tonight, in the message, God reminded me of the time he wanted me to be specific about my need. And the sweet peace was one again overwhelming…does that make sense? Can you have so much peace, you are overwhelmed? LOL I am just amazed at what God does for me…
I couldn’t thank God enough for just these little things…I like to blog about them, cause sometimes, going back and reading them is a good way to put satan on the move…LOL and to be honest… I’m not a writer…I can’t write and make you feel it in your soul…I wish I could…but like the song…it’s a joy “unspeakable”

School Nursing for Dummies
Okay, I am laughing....My office partner says I should write a book...I just love the excuses the kids come up to see the nurse. I have had a lot of "patients" this morning...which is unusual in itself...but the first 5 needed to hear the story about the boy who cried Wolf...but overall, you got to laugh...
Then there is the funny things...the stories that possibly couldn't be true..but after listening to Weirdo Wednesday news, you have go to wonder...
- There was the little Hispanic boy who had broke both thumbs..., BTW, yesterday, it was only the left one, although he could make a fist without pain...today, both of them were broke...but nope, daddy didn't take him to the ER...there is no swelling or loss of movement, so I bet an xray is not needed till school is out...
- Then there's the older child who has pulled some muscles and wants to call home...but when I offer Tylenol or Ibuprofen, just the mention of these pain relief tabs obviously is all he needed, cause he suddenly got to feeling better...and said so...Wow! (try this technique more often...)
- The child who had chest pain the first hour and really needed to go home but don't call Mom, call Mamaw... and the next hour had vomiting, but she held it in so as not to get it on her desk...(now if she could train all the rest of the student body this trick...)
- oh, and the "thumb-broked" little boy came back up, this time with the complaint of "gonna puke". No temp, so I sent him back to class...(if you puke, you have to show an adult...and...if you pick a scab and cause bleeding you don't get a band-aid either)
- An older child is next with the complaint of coughing and sore throat...needs Temp checked, cause if he doesn't have a fever, then's he's in trouble...what do you devise from this?? Oh, well that would be obviously he is coughing exceedingly in class to make other classmates laugh...and teacher put a stop to that real quick...
Then there is the funny things...the stories that possibly couldn't be true..but after listening to Weirdo Wednesday news, you have go to wonder...
- The child who's grandmother passed away yesterday who was 100 years old and lived in Egypt.
- The child who kept talking about his dead father...which I believed...but when asked how he died, he said, "either drugs or he was eaten by snakes"... WHAT?? ROFLOL
- the child who flies in an airplane everyday from China to her school here, just because it is a good school.
- the child who had a heart attack last night...

My busy life
Just a quick update here on my blog, cause I haven't had a chance to post lately. I'm SOOO busy...I know I have said that over and over on here, but really, I function better like that!!! Keeps my mind off certain things...if you know what I mean!
But, I think I have almost bit off more than I can chew...but I'm not backing down...I decided at the end of last semester that I could handle 3 classes...FORgetting, that at the beginning of the last semester, I thought the same thing with 2 classes... :-)
So, I took 2 classes online and 1 class on campus, which has class 2 times per week.
needless to say, with church, church activities, both kids are in basketball, class 2 nights per week, working 5 days a week, mommy stuff (laundry, house, supper, etc) I am worn to a frazzle most of the time. I know there are friends who think I have abandoned them...LOL, I haven't...just don't have time! Do I plan on slowing down? No...not a chance!!!!!
So for my online classes, I'm taking English Comp and Computer Science...which usually have assignments due every day of the week. And on campus I'm taking my Algebra that I am so happy I am conquering!
I do have a dream. I hope that in about 4 years, I can look back and see that I have reached my goal. I want to be a FNP by 2013; or at least very close. That is if all goes as planned...but you know how that goes when you try to plan your life. I tried that once...that didn't work...so just gonna have a goal to work toward and we will see how it comes along. Hey, everyone has to have something to work toward, right???
Morgan and Lukas are great...they are such strong children...I have never been any prouder than I am of them at this point in their life. They pull their share at home, they are trusting in God, and I am just soooo proud of them. They are only seeing their father about once every 2 weeks at this point, and I think it is better this way...keeps them less upset...
Well, better run, got lots of homework to do!!

Football Superbowl Photos

I have put some of these photos on facebook, but I figured this is a site where I want to save them for the fact that some readers are not users of FB...
Just for the reasons of documentation, this team was coached by Scott Trent, Jack Price, Anthony Bledsoe. This is the last year that Lukas will be able to play in this league. This makes his 3rd year playing tackle football. He loves it!
He played defensive end this year. The first two years, he played tight end...He definitely showed improvement this year. I really worried, because his first year, he had no idea about plays or anything. Now, of course, he thinks he knows it all...it is so funny to listen to him call out plays while watching games on TV.
He is a Steelers fan...and a Tennessee Vols fan... As you can tell by the pictures, his big Sis is proud of him. They have gotten closer in the past year. She is very protective of him..well, when they aren't fighting... LOL

The Comet Trail...
So, Haley's Comet passed by Earth between the year 1211 and 911 BC. Its tail is just now being seen on earth...which is way too cool....so last night was the night that Earth was closest to it and able to view it the best. (or this morning, actually...) so we set our clocks for 6am, dragged a blanket, pillow and sleeping bag out on the porch, and laid down to watch the show...yes, it was around 30 degrees outside...but...the sky was so clear...it was the coolest thing to be lying there watching the sky...we actually saw between 7-10 streaks across the sky in the 40 minutes that we laid there...the only thing that got cold was my ears and Morgan's nose...LOL Lukas could not be still...kept wanting to raise up at every sound...I said..."Son, we are not worried about Monsters right now, please BE STILL!!!!!" LOL I think he ended up seeing only about 3 cause of his twisty turny butt!!!!! But overall, it was another memory made for them to remember...the morning we watched the sky in our warm sleeping bags on the porch....
so here is what I found on a website...look up Haley's Comet for more info...
The annual Orionid shower, so-called because it appears from the direction of the constellation Orion, is created when earth passes through trails of debris floating through space.

The Will of God
We don't usually know the will of God...What is the will of God?? Is it what God thinks is best for me? Yes... is it changed by my prayers? yes, I do believe it is changed by my prayers as evident in the book of Exodus when the Children of Israel made the golden calf....God wanted to destroy them, but Moses begged God not to do it...
Exodus 32:1 And when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down out of the mount, the people gathered themselves together unto Aaron, and said unto him, Up, make us gods, which shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him. 32:2 And Aaron said unto them, Break off the golden earrings, which are in the ears of your wives, of your sons, and of your daughters, and bring them unto me. 32:3 And all the people brake off the golden earrings which were in their ears, and brought them unto Aaron. 32:4 And he received them at their hand, and fashioned it with a graving tool, after he had made it a molten calf: and they said, These be thy gods, O Israel, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt. 32:5 And when Aaron saw it, he built an altar before it; and Aaron made proclamation, and said, To morrow is a feast to the LORD. 32:6 And they rose up early on the morrow, and offered burnt offerings, and brought peace offerings; and the people sat down to eat and to drink, and rose up to play. 32:7 And the LORD said unto Moses, Go, get thee down; for thy people, which thou broughtest out of the land of Egypt, have corrupted themselves: 32:8 They have turned aside quickly out of the way which I commanded them: they have made them a molten calf, and have worshipped it, and have sacrificed thereunto, and said, These be thy gods, O Israel, which have brought thee up out of the land of Egypt. 32:9 And the LORD said unto Moses, I have seen this people, and, behold, it is a stiffnecked people: 32:10 Now therefore let me alone, that my wrath may wax hot against them, and that I may consume them: and I will make of thee a great nation. 32:11 And Moses besought the LORD his God, and said, LORD, why doth thy wrath wax hot against thy people, which thou hast brought forth out of the land of Egypt with great power, and with a mighty hand? 32:12 Wherefore should the Egyptians speak, and say, For mischief did he bring them out, to slay them in the mountains, and to consume them from the face of the earth? Turn from thy fierce wrath, and repent of this evil against thy people. 32:13 Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, thy servants, to whom thou swarest by thine own self, and saidst unto them, I will multiply your seed as the stars of heaven, and all this land that I have spoken of will I give unto your seed, and they shall inherit it for ever. 32:14 And the LORD repented of the evil which he thought to do unto his people.
So, this tells us that we CAN change God's mind as to what is supposed to happen...right?? Okay, so I was thinking this morning on the way to work....I am the world's worst to not ask God for anything...and if I do ask him for anything, I quickly follow it with, "Lord, whatever your will is, you know it, not me..." I am thinking that the devil hampers my prayers alot by reminding me that things that I pray may not be God's will...that I shouldn't ask...that God may give me my wishes and I may not want them after I get them... Ok, so am I weird, or does the devil bother other people like this??
I do believe there is a perfect will of God...I believe he has a pattern for my life...
But this morning, on the way to work, I was thinking....of these verses....
Luke 11:9-10 And I say unto you, ASK, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. For every one that ASKeth receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
John 14:13-14 And whatsoever ye shall ASK in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the son
If ye shall ASK any thing in my name, I will do [it].
John 15:7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ASK what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
These scriptures tell me to ASK!!!! There are things in my life that I have messed up....messes I have made, things I need God to move in...I am gonna stand on the authority of God's word and ASK!!!!!! I think the devil has hampered me too long!!! God knows my heart...He knows that I want his will above everything else...I prayed this morning...."God, if this is not your will, then change my desires...change my wants..."
1 John 5:14-15 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ASK any thing according to his will, he heareth us:
And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ASK, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.
Ephesians 3:20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ASK or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
WOW...what if He DID do above all that I could ask or think!!!!???? Wow..this is a good promise!!!! I am gonna claim it! I am gonna ask!!!!
Look at all the people in the bible who asked things of God...Elijah prayed for fire on the sacrifice... Nehemiah prayed that he could build the wall back....Hannah prayed for a child... Hezekiah prayed and God added years onto his life...Elijah prayed that it wouldn't rain and then that it would...
Okay....so I guess everyone got their bible study for this morning, huh... LOL

Prayer request...
Please pray for my children..they are having a very hard time...The devil is trying to get to Morgan in so many different ways...she is such a strong person and strong in her faith. On Sunday night, on the way home, she was crying and telling me about some thoughts she was having and God intervened with a phone call, even as we spoke...it was totally awesome....and to know that he cares for her that much....it was so precious.....
Lukas is all of a sudden having a valley too...not sure what is up with him, but there have been some disturbing actions on his part that have me concerned....but I know it is just the devil trying to get him to fall apart too...
Please just pray for me that I can be the Christian mother that I need to be..I fall short so many times...I really couldn't raise them right without God's help.
